Overview

Perspex International is looking for a committed, driven and experienced Procurement specialist to join our industry leading company. As the Buyer for the Purchasing department, you will be motivated to lead a culture of cost-savings and avoidance across the business. Key Responsibilities · Taking responsibility for the full portfolio of suppliers, including regular supplier meetings, negotiation of terms and contracts, reviewing and managing existing contracts and ensuring effective supplier performance · Procuring all direct and indirect services and materials, cross-functionally with a focus on price points, quality, specification and availability · Analysing and reporting on spend across the business and identifying opportunities and driving implementation of cost saving activities · Liaising with internal departments at every level, buildingstrong working relationships to ensure strategic company projects include a full procurement assessment · Ensuring compliance against internal processes and also striving to improve existing procurement procedures · Be aware of external requirements, including REACH and HMRC regulations, keeping up-to-date of any changes to legislations and ensuring full compliance within Purchasing and the wider business · Managing inventory levels to ensure correct stock management is aligned with changing business requirements, whilst also considering financial implications · Developing yourself within the role, whilst also offering coaching and support to other members of the team Key Skills and Experience · A minimum of 2 years’ experience within a Purchasing function, ideally from a manufacturing, engineering or chemical industry · Qualified to CIPS Level 4, or qualified by experience with proven industry experience · Ability to quickly develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. · Strong business acumen with a concern for impact at all times · A pro-active and focused approach to work, prioritising a varied workload and able to adapt to changes · Experience of using an MRP system is essential, SAP desirable, as well as Excel and a confidence in using other IT systems and packages Perspex International offers a flexible working scheme, competitive employer pension contribution rate, private healthcare, life assurance, free parking, and shut down over the Christmas period, plus access to many other employee benefits programmes.
