The Field Service Engineering Team is responsible for the deployment, setting to work and in service support of Naval Sonar, Electronic Warfare and Communication Systems used around the globe by our customers. The Field Services Engineer will: Conduct Front-line support including Fault diagnosis and testing as well as acceptance trials both in harbour and at sea. Provide an "On-Call" Support Service to our customers. Help to secure Thales as a key market leader in Electronic Warfare, Communications and Sonar Systems Services. Manage customer expectations whilst ensuring we deliver on-time and to budget. Provide Technical Support and be a Mentor to their subordinates. Key Responsibilities and Tasks Achievement of Key Performance Indicators for Operational Defects and contractual delivery dates whilst ensuring cost targets are achieved. Timely, clear communications to the Field Services Manager, Design Authority and to the Customer as applicable. Produce technical documents, reports and progress updates as required. Attending Customer and Project meetings as required. Responses to Customer queries. Being responsible for their own wellbeing and that of their team under the Health and Safety guidelines. Identification of both your own personal and professional development growth. Compliance with all export control rules and regulations including International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Other activities as specified by the Field Services Manager. Experience and Skills Essential Thorough experience in a relevant engineering discipline Demonstrable experience in installation and support activities on electrical, electronic, mechanical and hydraulic systems. Ability to work unsupervised when required. Desirable Experience in leading engineering teams in installations or support engineering. Demonstrable knowledge of complex systems. Ability to train, coach and support other Field Service engineers. Education and Qualifications Recognised, relevant technical qualification to HNC/HND level or demonstrable relevant experience. In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years. Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance which can require further evidence to be provided.
