Overview

International mining business seeking experienced group accountant to join group finance team for 6 month FTC. Based in Central London This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high performing finance team in an industry leading global business as a Senior Group Accountant. This role will be providing vital additional support over the busy period whilst they bring on additional permanent member of the team. The group team supports the CFO and executive team in understanding the value drivers of the business and in decision making. The main responsibilities of this Senior Group Accountant role are: Interpret financial accounting/reporting policies, standards, procedures and timetables. Act as point of contact for finance teams for reporting issues and queries, including issues encountered with the loading of their monthly results using Financial Data Quality Management (FDM). Prepare accounting papers as require. Review data submissions, ensuring accuracy with all validations cleared and/or understood. Liaise with the auditors over the course of the interim and year end audits. Ensure financial transactions and reporting are completed and reported in line with Group and local statutory requirements. Assisting with the monthly consolidation process by calculating and posting consolidation journals in(HFM). Support the Group Financial Reporting Manager and Group Financial Controller with ad hoc analysis as required. Ensure notes for interim and year end external reporting are prepared to a high standard. The ideal candidate for this Senior Group Accountant role will have: Extensive experience of working on a group consolidation and interim and year end reporting Experience with analysis and technical accounting matters Experience of using Hyperion Financial Management and Financial Data Quality Management would be advantageous A background in the mining sector or FTSE listed business would be desirable
