Senior Oncology Medical Advisor - Head Office based Bucks / Uxbridge Fantastic career opportunity to join a Global pharmaceutical business, growing rapidly to a new franchise in Oncology - fantastic focus on patients and people - innovative and entrepreneurial business, with strong commercial focus. Purpose: To provide internal and external medical support by being an expert on product, patient treatment trends and scientific activities within the disease area with specific focus on market access related activities, ensuring compliance with SOPs as well as legal and ethical standards. Accountabilities / Measures: Medical Affairs input at UK and European level • Participate and be an active member in the UK Medical and Brand teams in order to provide medical input into Market access Strategy. • Collaborate with market access on engagement with HTA bodies (NICE, SMC, AWMSG) and NHS stakeholders in the UK and from a medical side supports the development of high quality dossiers to support a price and reimbursement that is in line with the overall company strategy • Lead local strategies and ensure alignment with European strategies. Provides expert support relating to product, patient treatment trends and scientific activities within disease areas. • Responsible for selection, coordination of medical content of the local reimbursement dossier • Contribute to the methodology to evaluate medical benefit and risk in coordination with other departments (market access and RRWE/HEORs, regulatory, patient safety, medical affairs) • Responsible of the medical part of the local value dossier when it is applicable in line with the Market access department and regulatory department • Coordinate and check the CSR and additional information with European and global teams • Determine and plan, coordinate and check the setup of medical strategy to prepare the local value dossier with CRO involved Technical/Professional Knowledge: Essential – • GMC Registered Physician or UK-registered pharmacist with a higher degree • Experience of working in a medical advisor, clinical research or similar role where there is strong evidence of gaining healthcare professional insight and providing medical input into brand strategy. • Ability to quickly and comprehensively learn about new therapy areas and environments. • Knowledge of the UK National Healthcare System and the pharmaceutical industry. • Knowledge of statistical methods. • Experience of working effectively in cross functional teams. • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with External Experts. • Demonstrated ability to write scientific publications. • Knowledge of pricing issues and experience of contribution to HTA dossiers. • Complete knowledge of UK and EU regulations e.g. MHRA, GVP. • Advanced presentation skills. • Full driving licence or ability to travel within the UK. • Advanced user of Microsoft Office software products. Desirable – • At least one year experience as an ABPI final signatory. • Experience in Oncology. • Innovative approaches to managing external customers and internal partners • Leading edge approaches to capturing customer insight • Knowledge of key markets research terms and modes of analysis • Knowledge of clinical trial design and process.
