Job Title: Strategic Lead Healthy Places Location: Hertford Salary Range: £48,531 - £51,622 pa Hours: 37 hours per week Contract: Permanent Job Duties: This is an exciting opportunity to lead on the development of environments that support good health across Hertfordshire. We are looking for an experienced planning or public health professional to join our innovative public health team Working for public health will give you an alternative perspective on town planning, as well as useful career experience. Our work is diverse, with a range of functions that include the promotion of healthy environments, commissioning of a range of services (e.g. sexual health and drug and alcohol), and partnership working to improve health outcomes within Hertfordshire. The role Hertfordshire is experiencing unprecedented growth with at least 100,000 new homes and 100,000 new jobs to be created by 2031. This is a high profile and exciting post capitalising on opportunities that the Council’s ambitious growth agenda presents for creating healthy places for our residents to live, work and socialise. This is a senior leadership and strategic role that will be instrumental in delivering the Public Health Strategy focusing on planning and inclusive growth. You will lead a large and complex programme of work to promote health and wellbeing and reduce health inequalities through addressing the wider determinants of health (namely the built and natural environment). You will work closely with external partner agencies, particularly district and borough councils, and will line manage and provide support to the Healthy Places team.
