Assistant Accountant £26k On-site parking. Free lunch. 24 days holiday plus B/H Our client, a leading manufacturing business are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join them. This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to further develop their skills & experience in a supportive environment. Reporting to the Financial Controller you will assist with the timely and accurate production of the monthly management accounts and company information. Main duties will include; Process sales invoices/credit notes/manual inv's on system on a daily basis so information is complete, accurate and up to date. Production of accurate monthly customer statements and agent commission statements. Complete the month end sales ledger routines, including verifying the accuracy. Process daily cash received onto customer accounts on system so that customer accounts are accurate and up to date. Estimate sales/receipts information for 3 months, to include in the department's monthly 13 week cashflow forecast. Credit control work to ensure customers pay on the due date, chase any overdue accounts Ensure debtor days are within the budgeted limit of 58 days. Produce a monthly Debtors report for information to be included in the monthly Management Accounts. Perform monthly stock reconciliations on the stock held at remote stores to ensure the company records are accurate and up to date. Produce accurate monthly journals for the general ledger by the deadline date so that the monthly management accounts can be produced by the Financial Controller. Liaison with auditors Prepare the monthly HMRC Intrastat (despatches) and EC sales list, accurately and to HMRC monthly deadlines to avoid penalties. Maintain the fixed asset register with additions and disposals of fixed assets on a timely basis. Process the accurate monthly depreciation charge for entry into the general ledger. Ad hoc duties as required You will be a team player with excellent communication skills. This role would suit someone who is AAT qualified or early stages CIMA. Experience of working in a manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
