Assistant Head of Employee Relations
Overview
As Assistant Head of Employee Relations you will manage and coordinate the delivery of an efficient and effective professional customer focused Employee Relations Service to all staff and managers in accordance with the company Objectives, Policy and Procedure and Legislative requirements. To ensure the effective case management of complex cases, that all People policies efficiently meet business needs and legislative requirements and productive consultation processes are in place. In this role you will be based between their Bradford and Leeds office. This role is available on an Interim basis for 6 months and is full time working 37 hours per week on a flexi-time basis. You will need to be CIPD qualified to Level 7 and have proven HR management experience. Duties and responsibilities include: Lead by example and behave in line with the organisation’s Code of Ethics ensuring that their values and behavioural expectations are clearly understood and considered by managers and staff in their decision making and actions; reinforcing and influencing them through all interactions and processes. Proactively manage the performance, attendance and well-being of staff against the required standards to ensure they are dealt with and supported in accordance with the correct policies and procedures. Develop, lead and motivate the Employee Relations team in order to provide a professional, flexible and customer focused service by ensuring that they have access to knowledgeable subject experts in all aspects of people management including complex cases. Be accountable for the establishment and maintenance of a performance management framework for the team which includes clear metrics for timescales, quality of service, consistency and continuous improvement. Support the Head of Employee Relations in developing an Employee Relations Delivery Plan to transform the Employee Relations service, improve people management capabilities across the organisation. Lead the Employee Relations team to support the successful implementation of organisational change, collaborative agreements and other reviews, ensuring that arrangements are delivered to meet the requirements of the organisation. Develop, manage, facilitate and regularly evaluate an efficient and effective process of consultation and negotiation with Trade Unions and Staff Associations for all company-wide People matters.
