Overview

Support Workers- Glasgow and West -Adults with Learning Disabilities, Temporary Contracts and Shifts Hays Social Care are looking for Support Workers with recent experience of working with adults who have learning disabilities, Autism and mental health needs. We need support staff to be confident to manage complex situations as they arise and be experienced in dealing with a wide range of needs, situations and service users. There are a number of upcoming temporary contracts and shifts working with a range of care providers in both residential and supported living settings. You should be calm and compassionate and will help service users develop their interests and assist with everyday living including some personal care and health needs whilst actively encouraging independence. Typical duties could involve attending medical visits, assisting with household chores, meeting with family and friends and providing general emotional support. Successful candidate will have at least 6 months experience of working with adults with learning disabilities gained in the last 2 years. An HNC/SVQ qualification in Social Care is highly desirable as is a current driving license or the ability to travel freely on public transport. We can offer various shifts to work around your current commitments including days, nights, early and late shifts. We will provide free training and will cover the cost of your existing PVG check.
