Overview

Warehouse Supervisor Location: Manchester, OL11 3DT Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience Hours of Work: Monday - Friday 2pm-10pm (Occasional Saturday) About the Company: Walkers Transport provides customers with peace of mind in the daily management and delivery of our palletised freight throughout the UK, Ireland & Europe. The role of Warehouse Supervisor is both varied and demanding; covering a host of responsibilities that collectively represent the key tasks that are critical to our daily operation. The elements covered will be assigned by the Line manager to offer opportunities to enhance employee skill sets as well as create robust business contingencies. Warehouse Supervisor Responsibilities: Comply with all related safety procedures & policies governing your role, work area and general business matters; Promoting well-being of yourself and colleagues at all times. Undertake all regular necessary checks to ensure that equipment used within the department is safe and fit for purpose. Report any defects immediately to your line manager. Consistently apply procedures, policies, and practices to deliver high levels of Product, Pallet and Labelling quality control. Ensure scanning and transmitting processes are achieved within set time restrictions Apply remedial action where necessary to promote the safe & successful delivery of pallets either via the Network or across our own fleet. Information accuracy (bay-checks, scanning, labelling etc.) to be maintained at all times and adopted in-line with company and customer expectations. Deploy tactics to ensure all pallets are handled in the most economical and efficient manner; reducing risk associated with damage, losses, traffic movement and cost. Deliver business KPI targets set within your area of work and/or by your line manager. Continuously assess department performance and propose ideas that will improve operational efficiencies and productivity levels. Help maintain an environment that promotes high performance (equipment, housekeeping, organizational lay-out, traffic flow management etc.) Maintain relationships and effective communication channels with your colleagues, line manager, other departments, and customers where applicable. Actively participate and contribute in company meetings, improvement programs and audit assessments. Live the Walkers Mission, Values and "Can Do" rules at all times.
