Overview
Network Engineer A leading public sector organisation in Leeds has approached Venn Group’s public sector IT team to recruit an enthusiastic Network Engineer to join their dynamic department. Experience: Experience of working in a large LAN/WAN data and telephony communications environment, experience of data and voice cabling Knowledge and experience of Cisco IOS Use of management tools such as Solarwinds Good understanding of the IP Addressing, DNS/DHCP and general TCP/IP protocol suite An appreciation and understanding of network security issues and their importance Understand operation of Helpdesk systems Working in a Microsoft environment Knowledge A good knowledge and understanding of existing and emerging technology solutions and standards within the data and voice networking environment Knowledge of Cisco IOS Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems Use of network management software/Tools Knowledge and understanding of firewalls is desirable Skills Ability to configure switches and routers and other network devices Able to maintain and support analogue and IP telephony systems Ability to maintain service quality and deliver within a very busy environment Ability to organise own work Ability to operate as part of a team Respond to queries and provide advice and guidance in a logical, patient and supportive manner Customer focused Desirable CCNA or working towards CCNA Location: Leeds Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum (dependant on experience)
