My client design and manufacture lighting for the architectural, marine and display market. With over 30 years’ experience in the lighting industry they have built up a reputation for high quality and innovative products built in the UK. This is an opportunity to join an exciting, growing lighting manufacturer in the UK. Technical sales administrator is a very central role in the company covering all admin. areas - telephone, paperwork, sales orders, quotes etc, previous experience in the lighting industry as well as an experienced candidate with a solid background in customer service, sales & project management. The ideal candidate will be friendly, professional and personable, and possess a natural ability to get to know our regular clients and build good relationships with new clients. Your excellent organisational skills and soft sales experience means you will efficiently manage and understand your own projects at each stage of the process, from quote, to order, to after-sales service / trouble-shooting, and your inquisitive mind and natural ability to work as part of a team mean you will also have an awareness of what is going on throughout the company and be able to help and support your team members if required. Your impeccable attention to detail will ensure all your paperwork is accurate and find-able, and that any team member can easily get up to speed with your work when necessary. A background in lighting, technical products, project management and experience in obtaining detail from technical drawings is key for this role. Key Skills: Responsible / reliable / self-motivated Inquisitive, “can-do” attitude, willing to find information out for yourself Enthusiastic administrator / project manager - Efficient, clear thinking organiser Excellent attention to detail Confident handling telephone calls regarding electrical wiring Technically minded – able to understand electrical information and drawings Communication/listening skills – on telephone/ with customers (inc. overseas) / with colleagues / with contractors and freight forwarders, etc. Exceptional multi-tasking skills - ability to prioritise and organise own workload whilst also working as part of a team Staying calm and focussed under pressure Problem solving skills Confident with MS Word / Excel and ability to learn bespoke systems Knowledge of Sage (S.O.P.) and of export procedures would be an advantage Duties include but not limited to: Answering the telephone Quoting for lighting products / determining what customer requires Obtaining lengths and quantities from technical drawings Accurate filing / finding information Following up quotations effectively using your soft sales skills Project management & project awareness Looking after your dedicated Lighting designers, Interior Designers, Architects, Contractors, Wholesalers and Yacht Building Yards. Attending client facing functions as required and represent the company in a friendly, professional manner.
