Role: Family Solicitor/ Legal Executive Salary: £30,000-£40,000 DOE Location: Rotherham Our client are a regional legal practice The role: The conduct of the Family Department specialising in divorce, financials, domestic abuse and public and private children law providing effective delivery and a professional and efficient service to all clients. To develop caseload and to achieve personal and departmental targets. The post holder will undertake the assigned duties and responsibilities professionally, and efficiently, ensuring that all actions are discharged within the regulatory and legislative requirements to which the Firm is subjected to:- With full regard for the Firm’s equal opportunities and health and safety requirements; To achieve individual and team targets assigned through the Firm’s annual planning and staff appraisal processes; Within set guidelines and criteria of the Solicitors Regulation Authority, Legal Services Commission and associated professional connections of the legal professions; Subject to the Firm’s approved strategies, policies and procedures. The successful candidate: Ideally we are looking for someone who is on, or working towards Advanced Family Law Panel membership. Mediation experience would also be an advantage. The ideal candidate will be expected to: Undertake existing and new Family matters, in-line with the guidelines, policies and procedures detailed in the Firm’s Office Manual. Handle all client matters in a professional and efficient way, ensuring clients and those associated with the case are informed regularly of the current position. Attend on clients, take client’s instruction, prove appropriate legal advice and attend Court as required; keep expenditure within budget limits, as agreed with clients or within the criteria as set by the Legal Services Commission achieve personal fee-earning and chargeable hours targets, which will be revised annually, and effectively contribute to the team performance targets; Undertake personal development within the criteria specified by the Law Society, Legal Services Commission, associated professional bodies and the Firm. Actively keep up-to-date with case law and changes in legislation which may affect areas of specialism. Undertake all duties in-line with Professional Standards and the Firm’s policies and procedures; Be fully IT literate, have excellent organisational, advocacy and both written and oral skills.
