Overview

Handyman/Concierge/Contractor Supervisor Our client has a vacancy for one of their commercial building in High Wycombe. The successful applicant will be an integral member of the team and a key contributor in providing a range of services to support the day to day supervision, maintenance and security for a large building. The manager will ensure the provision of a safe and secure environment for members of staff, visitors and contractors of the building whilst managing the day-to-day activities at the development. They will aim to ensure that contractors undertake their duties, monitor their effectiveness and provide a link to the facilities Manager at Head Office. As Manager you will be expected to be pro-active in checking the status of the Estate internally and externally and in dealing with any faults or flaws in the workings of the plant and machinery, in the cleanliness, health & safety and the regular maintenance programmes and inspections of the Estate. Requirements: Knowledge of Facility Management to enable the services provided to be delivered in line with best practice and assisting with building operations. Ability to organise own workload and to be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and the documentation of day to day tasks and health and safety assessments/RAMS. Ability to identify and resolve day to day technical and operational problems using own experience and skill set. Must be able to articulate clear solutions in response to request from line managers. Knowledge of current and applicable H&S legislation and requirements and training and certification is required. Maintain an air of professionalism at all times with strong interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. Responsibilities To carry out the day to day service functions as requested by the Office Manager Carry out reactive and planned janitorial and maintenance duties to enhance premises. Assist with the mechanical and engineering contractor (Voltix) with their ongoing planned preventative maintenance on site. Write reports relating to incidents and other matters arising from the responsibilities of the post. Assist with accidents and emergencies that may affect the building, grounds and visitors. Provide cover for Saturday opening if required and by agreement. Attend out of hours emergencies as directed by the Office Manager. Carry out porterage duties as required. Undertaker Health and Safety responsibilities as specified in Energizer's Health and Safety document, and take action to ensure a safe environment. To receive deliveries at the designated delivery point from external couriers and suppliers. The receipting, storage and assistance with the distribution of goods to each department. When on duty, to direct workmen and contractors to the site of the repair and maintenance work and verify what contractors have attended and appear to have completed the task for which they were hired. To detect and report building defects to the Office Manager and to organise emergency repairs to building, furniture and equipment subject to the Facilities Assistant's abilities and training To carry out the movement of furniture and equipment within the building, e.g. setting up meeting rooms. To undertake any necessary action as directed by the Office Manager in the event of bad weather or emergency. e.g. clearing snow or ice from pathways, dealing with floods, fire, break-ins. To carry out duties required for the operation of lighting and heating equipment, including changing light bulbs and fluorescent tubes, monitoring usage and promoting energy conservation. To ensure the grounds / common areas remain tidy and well presented by removing litter etc. Putting the bins out Sweeping rubbish externally around the building, to include the car park Dealing with minor reactive maintenance issues To inspect the plant room and report and defects or issues.
