A Day in the Life of a Electrical & Automation Engineer We’re looking for someone to provide Electrical & Automation support to the factory engineering team, this person will deliver cost effective maintenance activities to site assets in line with annual maintenance plan and situation demands. To actively seek and implement new improvement methods to increase reliability. Other key day-to-day activities will be: • Attend breakdowns to both plant and equipment to manage day-to-day needs of the production department. • Building strong awareness of departmental needs to maximise production output and ensuring the smooth flow of the operation. • The role will ask that you are able to provide a site wide support function to production and engineering, utilising analytical tools to improve plant reliability in helping achieve plant objectives and maximise efficiency and minimise total cost. • Assist with in root-cause analysis, implementing robust countermeasures, and supporting first line operator development, TPM, centre lining and SMED activities. • Work with Shift manager, Operators and the wider engineering team to provide expertise in Electrical, Mechanical and Pneumatic control systems ensuring efficient plant operation. • Coach and mentor the maintenance team members to develop their automation and electrical capabilities. • Implement performance improvement projects as identified by the teams. What will make you successful To be successful in this key role we expect you to ideally have experience working in a FMCG manufacturing maintenance environment and have strong service orientation amongst internal stakeholders with lots of proactive initiative and attention to detail. Other key attributes we are looking for are: • Educated in Electrical Engineering to Degree, HNC or ONC level and Completion of a recognised apprenticeship. • Experience in Electrical , Instrumentation and Allen Bradley SLC500 & ControlLogix a necessity or practical equivalent. • Wonderware SCADA, InTouch would be advantageous. • Experience of SERVO systems in relation to FMCG machinery • Ability to fault find within Electrical panels and apply a logical fault finding approach to breakdowns and problem solving. • Proficient with Microsoft products. • Knowledge of BS 7671 IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, EN 60204-1 Safety of machinery –Electrical equipment of machines & EN ISO 13849-1. Safety of machinery — Safety-related parts of control systems is advantageous. • Someone who takes pride and responsibility in what you do with strong problem solving skills and continuous improvement mind-set. • Proven ability to actively apply skills in a safe and effective manner. • Ability to communication technical information to non-technical audiences.
