New direct opportunity working for our client in the heart of London. Our client is seeking an Audio visual technician (Media services) to be an active and enthusiastic part of the continuing process of transforming our client’s audio-visual team, turning it into a market leader within the London conference and live events industry. Major responsibilities: • Delivering a professional, creative, efficient and effective multi discipline media creation service. These services include specialisms in: • Filming • Video editing • Live streaming services • Photography Services • Motion Graphics creation • Graphic design • Audio / Video Restoration • Managing the rigging, de-rigging and checking of all filming and streaming equipment. • To be responsible for the safe transit and return of equipment to off-site locations. • To create bespoke motion graphics for each individual media project at the request of the client in order to deliver the high standards of production value • To work with any material provided to you, including VHS tapes, corrupted files and bad audio in order to create visually appealing piece. • To support the Live events technicians by providing media creation services on an event by event basis. • Delivering expert support to clients in the use of PowerPoint, Keynote, Adobe Acrobat and other presentation tools brought in by speakers. (This support includes the creation of slides and other material requiring excellent typing skills, spelling and grammar.) • To provide expert advice on use of Media creation programmes such as Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro X and Avid Media Composer to enhance projects. • Effective, professional verbal communication with event organisers, high profile speakers and VIPs to identify their media creation requirements often in stressful circumstances. • Effective, professional email communication with event organisers, high profile speakers and VIPs to understand and support their media creation requirements during the whole project process. • Effective, professional email communication with external audio-visual companies to understand and support their media creation requirements during the whole event process. • Maintaining the existing filming, editing and streaming equipment within the company and reporting faults and damage to the Technical and audio-visual manager. • Effective skills in patching, networks and the ability to fault find effectively under pressure. • Setting up, operating and trouble-shooting, filming and editing, video conference, web casting and streaming technologies for the delivery of hybrid events. • Stock control of consumable goods for media creation service. • Display a willingness to maintain and enhance knowledge through training and on-going development. • Understand current video-conferencing and telephony technologies including VoIP • Adhere and comply with the provisions of the companies Health and Safety Policy. • Undertake all duties and responsibilities in compliance with the rules and regulations encompassing equal opportunities. Purpose and scope: All filming, editing and streaming projects are expected to be delivered with the highest levels of customer service. Technicians need to be able to anticipate customer needs, strive to exceed the clients’ expectations at all times and inspire the same dedication in their colleagues within the AV team. Audio-visual technicians of all grades will need to have clear enthusiasm to expand their knowledge of the various disciplines (sound, lighting, projection, filming, IT, telephony, video conferencing and streaming) on which the AV department’s service is based. Management • Ensuring that all clients are fully supported through the media creation process that is thorough and methodical in its planning and communication. • Ensuring that all full time and freelance technicians are fully briefed on each project prior to it starting and are clear on their roles and the clients’ expectations on an event by event basis. • That when it is required and additional filming or streaming equipment or services are to be sub- contracted, to ensure that those resources are of as high a standard as possible. • To respond appropriately and decisively in resolving technical and customer service issues when they arise often without seeking prior managerial approval. • Administer and support all technical aspects of the content server including media creation, basic analytic collation, setting encoding profiles, player creation, processing live streaming points and general maintenance. • To have full administrative responsibility for the filming inbox, answering any technical questions regarding streaming and forwarding mail to the appropriate inboxes (e.g. for CPD points). • Supporting the process designing of long term on and off line content storage solutions • Advising regional managers in regards to what AV requirements a streamed or video recorded events requires in order to maintain the brand and reputation of the company's Audio Visual Services. Sales • That the Sales and Account managers and AV technicians are given reliable and timely support in creating the most effective filming and streaming solutions to the company’s clients needs. • Providing options and promoting enhanced services to client both potential and confirmed to increase revenue • Providing a thorough and detailed post project service to clients as a way of promoting repeat business and increased sales • To provide regular feedback to the Technical and audio visual-manager focussing on service improvements and sales potential • Create up to date marketing material that can be used to sell the company's services to all prospective clients. • Take corporate style Photography of requested set ups so that we can continue to build a photograph library of AVTMS and its capabilities within the company. • Benchmark company services against other providers in order to stay relevant with the media creation industry. Operations • Set up and de-rig all filming, streaming and editing equipment to a high standard even when under pressure. • Find faults, diagnose technical problems and offer fixes, solutions and "work-arounds" efficiently when under pressure. • To remain focussed and alert during long conferences. • To be able to work long hours when required to deliver complex editing projects within agreed deadlines. • To have a clear understanding the correct operation of all the company’s technical equipment. • To be able to cope with the regular physical demands of the role including handling and lifting and rapid responses to situations. • Install, de-rig and support new IP based services such as web broadcasting and recording of lectures and networking facilities for visiting clients and delegates. • To deliver a high standard of project management to all Media services projects (Filming, streaming, graphics, photography, restoration.) • To be responsible for the safe transit and return of equipment to off-site locations. • To ensure that all filming, streaming and editing equipment is "event ready" all times. • To work effectively with other stakeholders in the meetings and events team and with colleagues from other teams both internal and external. People • To be a visible presence front of house supporting a positive and supportive work culture amongst the audio visual technicians and other colleagues through the company. • Willing and able to work irregular hours and 24/7 support • To supervise and to work effectively with in-house staff and freelance technicians. • Take an active and positive role in on-going team building. • Work effectively with other members of the AV team even during times of stress. • To be able to take instruction quickly and act upon it efficiently and accurately. • To communicate effectively with our company's stakeholders and clients on a daily basis. Systems • Following AV week sheets and weekly AV schedule planning to ensure that all filming and streaming equipment for events is set up, operated and cleared as requested. • To be able to communicate and exactly follow a client brief. • Ensuring all project documents and media is saved and stored on accordance to AV policies and procedures. • Ensuring that daily feedback to account managers via Rendezvous is completed post event. • Ensuring that all equipment is returned to its correct storage location and that any damage or loss is reported to the Technical and audio-visual manager. • To have a clear understanding of other departments and their roles to ensure effective technical support is offered • To demonstrate consistent active learning of new systems and equipment. Financial • To attend show rounds with sales and accounts managers and live events technicians and to offer solutions to clients’ needs and to find opportunities to enhance their events. • To create bespoke quotes for clients requiring filming, editing or streaming services. • To monitor levels of equipment and consumable goods stock and report back to Technical and audio-visual manager when ordering is required. • To ensure that existing equipment is correctly maintained and always "event ready" • To contribute ideas for future equipment purchases and services to the AVTMS Commercial Manager Major responsibilities: • Delivering a professional, creative, efficient and effective multi discipline media creation service.
