About the role At Surrey we are always keen to hear from Residential Workers who are looking for an opportunity that will allow them to help make a real difference to children we support. We also want people who are committed to developing their own professional skills and ability. This is supported by a variety of training opportunities including safeguarding, communication and the ability to complete Children's level 3 diploma . Our residential homes for children up to 18 years are inspected regularly by OFSTED and most have been judged as either 'Good' or 'Outstanding' or are working towards it. We are very proud of the quality of our residential services for children in Surrey. As a result we have invested in our homes and staff and plan to continue this, in order to achieve a service that is ambitious, innovative and responsive to the needs of young people in our care. Our residential settings for disabled children and young people have a proven and successful track record of supporting young people who have an autistic spectrum condition. As a Residential Support Worker your responsibilities will include: Working and supporting disabled children and young people to create positive outcomes and promote independence. Direct practical interactions with children and young people including play, activities, cooking, personal care and engaging with the wider community. Shift leading, planning and coordination of activities. Working to a high standard in line with OFSTED inspection framework requirements including working towards the quality standards for children's homes of which you should have an understanding. Engage in Planning, implementation and delivery of care plans. Working in partnership with other agencies. Report writing and attending reviews as required. A driving license is essential to this position. In summary we are looking for people who like to have fun and enjoy the company of children and young people. Have an understanding of Autism, anxiety and the challenging behaviors that this can present. Have a desire to make a difference and a passion to support children and young people to achieve their dreams.
