Overview
SHI has an exciting opportunity in our Enterprise Solutions Group for a Solutions Specialist - Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) working out of our Milton Keynes, UK Office. This position is a part of the wider Digital Workspace practice within ESG, a fast-paced team that is well versed in all SHI’s solutions and services portfolio offerings with a focus on solution selling and being at the forefront of technology and constantly innovating. This position will give the candidate exposure to marketing, partner relations, sales and sales support, the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Solutions Specialist is critical in supporting the end user workspace business and helping customers to digitally transform. The correct candidate will also act as a liaison for SHI to the following; distribution, the vendors and the partners they are supporting. They will also responsible for understanding the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) product line, executing on initiatives, and working closely with sales and marketing to ensure revenue growth and customer success. SHI ESG is looking for a strong and organized individual to proactively support SHI customers looking for Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) End User solutions. This role will focus on Windows 10 and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure technologies. Our ideal candidate will be up to speed on leading User Workspace Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies, possess prior presales experience and even hands-on experience with modern desktop solutions. Responsibilities Including but not limited to; • Primary contact for SHI sales teams and customers for specific VDI End User Workspace solutions with a strong focus on VMware Horizon, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop and Amazon Workspaces • Assist customers and sales teams with making decisions on their User Workspace Strategies • Assist in the development of Intellectual Property (IP) • Conduct discovery calls to gather customer specific requirements • Assist with solution positioning and qualification • Assist SHI Sales and ESG Solution Architects with customer facing conference calls • Assist with proposal creation and presentation process in conjunction with Sales and SA’s. • Attach professional services to all qualified opportunities by working closely with partner services (PSO) • Maintain certifications relevant to job role • Support Vendors Specific Programs • Stay current with new technologies and innovations and recommend adoption of new technologies Qualifications (External) • A, Network, VTSP, VCAP • 2-3 years direct experience working with Modern Windows Operating Systems, Deployment Technologies, Virtual Desktops and Virtual Application delivery solutions • 3-5 years working in customer facing or support roles Required Skills • Excellent organization, communication, verbal & written skills • Must be results driven with a strong sense of urgency • Self-study and independent work to increase job related knowledge and skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Excellent World Class Support and follow through with limited to no follow up from management • Outstanding attention to detail and problem solving capabilities • Ability to learn fast, absorb knowledge and apply newly learned information on a daily basis • Strong planning, organization, management and prioritization skills • Positive attitude towards SHI/ESG (UK) and passionate about SHI’s success • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel • Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment Preferred Skills: • VCAP, CCA or CCEA Benefits: Bupa Healthcare - after qualifying period Life Assurance - after qualifying period Eyecare Vouchers Childcare Vouchers Fully paid Employee parking permit About SHI SHI UK, Milton Keynes, has been established for 20 years and under the guidance of the UK management has grown from a small satellite office to now our EMEA Headquarters.
