Overview

A leading distributor of heating, plumbing and bathroom products is looking for a Commercial Assistant to provide vital administration and pricing support to their Commercial Management team. Based at the company's Chorley office, you will be working closely with category colleagues to support supplier promotions and working within all areas of pricing and product data. The Opportunity The company you'll be joining have been established for over 50 years, offering the most comprehensive range of products within the plumbing and heating sector. They currently turnover c.£300 million a year and continue to grow while operating from distribution centres throughout the UK. The business has recently been acquired by a successful UK wholesale and distribution group, expanding the group's turnover to c.£920 million. Joining their well-established team as a Commercial Assistant, your responsibilities will include: Accurately setting up new suppliers and product records on the system, including pricing and ongoing maintenance Acting as first-line support for the branch, product supply and finance team's product and pricing queries Establishing and maintaining sound working relationships with key internal contacts and suppliers Updating price guides for the business unit and various supplier promotions Working on various projects when required within a given brief Maintaining purchase rebate agreements on the systems in line with supplier trading agreements Recording and monitoring of Quality Assurance (QA) files including data sheets, product technical files and supplier commitments Rewards As a Commercial Assistant, you will receive: Starting salary between £22,000 - £25,000 per annum (depending on experience) The opportunity to earn an annual bonus An enjoyable office environment and close-knit team Training and shadowing a senior team member The opportunity to build a career with a large well-respected group of companies who look after and value their employees Requirements To be successful in this administrative role, you should have: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Excellent numeracy skills with the ability to interpret figures and develop spreadsheets An eye for detail and data handling Competent computer skills.
