Overview
We are looking for individuals during the weekend to work within the Lewisham Borough, who are kind, caring, flexible and can assist Children and Young people awith Autism or Challenging behaviour as well as complex needs, in having a safe, sociable and active lifestyle. Ideally, you will have previous experience in this sector whether personal or professional. Though a qualification is not essential, a willingness to gain the qualification within 2 years is required. The requirements of a Support Worker: · Able to communicate effectively and creatively with individuals and staff, both orally and in writing Ability to provide support in line with the individual’s person-centred plan Able to relate positively and confidently with individuals and to work in a way that places the service user at the centre of all activities and decisions relating to the support provided Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently, demonstrating the ability to use own initiative and make decisions based on the wishes of each individual To respect people’s privacy and dignity To work in the home and within the local community.
