Overview

Objectives of the role: This is a key leadership role in the External Reporting team who will contribute to our accounting policy (IFRS) matters including external reporting, policy development, training and compliance. Reporting into an outstanding FD, you'll ideally be a Big 4 Manager looking for your first industry move into an incredibly broad position. This will require a very strong understanding of IFRS/other standards and offer you exposure across the group up to Executive Management. Responsibilities: The role will entail the following Contributing to all IFRS compliance matters across the group including setting and maintaining the Group Accounting Policies Manual and ensuring compliance with all technical accounting issues Assessing, documenting and resolving the accounting impacts of complex transactions in advance of contract execution to optimise outcomes. Lead accounting, adhering to agreed service levels Prepare key working papers ensuring judgements/issues are appropriate and reported upon where necessary Contribute to external financial reporting in order to ensure IFRS compliance including liaising with auditors as required Draft presentations related to accounting matters to be discussed with the Executive Leadership Team and the Audit Committee Attributes : The following experiences are preferred and will be advantageous: In depth working knowledge of IFRS15 and ASC606 including an understanding of legacy revenue standards, IASB policy development, and the IFRS15 transition resource group guidance An accountant who has worked as part of a project team adopting IFRS 9/15/16 with exposure to accounting software implementations Experience of software and financial services is required 2 years PQE experience either in a large professional services firm or working within a technical accounting role at a software company Qualified Accountant with broad working knowledge of IFRS High degree of computer proficiency, particularly Microsoft Excel and general ledger software Knowledge of full lifecycle within software development
