Overview
London Plus Credit Union provides flexible financial products including savings and loans. We exist for the benefit of our members, providing good value, ethical financial services for members of the communities we serve. We are seeking a Loans Officer to enable us to deliver ambitious growth plans by managing our loan growth portfolio. We are a rapid growing credit union with a strong professional reputation within the sector. We launched our services in 2008 in the heart of Fulham. We now operate across five London boroughs, have over 5000 members and partner with a number of housing associations and other organisations. We aim to deliver competitive and affordable products to our members and adapt what we do to meet the needs of the communities that we operate in. Our organisation has four key strategic objectives: Build a strong and balanced business Develop our products and services Benefit our community Ensure professional operations Key Responsibilities: Support the General Manager to provide an effective loans service to members of the credit union Ensure compliance with loan and other credit procedures at all times Promote the work of the credit union at outreach events and activities Develop and update skills and knowledge Key Tasks: Loan services Promote the benefits of all credit union products and service to existing and potential members; provide general information and answer queries Conduct telephone and face to face interviews for loan applications Score loan applications and negotiate loan and repayments with applicants; follow appropriate procedures and sign off requirements before approving and issuing any loan Ensure member loan repayments are up to date; refer any late/non repayment to the general manager and as required instigate early intervention to reduce risk of delinquency. Manage the day to day to day loans service in line with the credit union financial model projections. Manage the relationship with the external teams. Represent the credit union externally, undertake presentations and attend events. Compliance and Audit Maintain accurate records through established systems and procedures Maintain up to date records of payments, withdrawals and other transactions on members accounts Assist with the preparation for the annual audit, other audits and supervisory committee inspections and reconciliation Monitor transactions and applications for fraud detection and prevention Administration Assist with the organisation of the AGM, any SGM or other meetings/events Undertake general administration and clerical duties; keep the office clean and tidy Provide information to members and potential new members; deal with general queries and assist with the completion of all application forms General Ensure all health and safety requirements are met; report any incidents or accidents immediately or anything considered unsafe Ensure that own work supports the credit union in delivering a high quality professional standard of service Work effectively with others and make a positive contribution to the work of the organisation Generally support the Chief Executive, managers and team members in the running of the Credit Union; undertake research, projects and other duties as required Ideal candidate You will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service by helping new and existing members access our much needed financial services. You will demonstrate an ability to make prudent and responsible decisions and be experienced in loan accessing. You will have outstanding communication skills and you will be sensitive to members in financial distress. You will be self-motivated and work well under pressure to reach our business plan projections. You will demonstrate excellent attention to detail and time management. Salary and Benefits Salary: £21,000 - £23,000 per annum (Depending on experience) Generous pension provision 23 days holiday plus Bank Holidays Training and development opportunities
