VAC: 283 Electrical Technician / Electrician Based: Wolverhampton West Midlands Salary: £29,200 basic plus overtime at time and half and double time LWS Services are proud to be the chosen recruitment partner for a well-established market leader within the Energy from Waste industry. Due to expansion there is now an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Electrical Technician / Electrician to join their growing team. Role Responsibilities: Responsible for the electrical maintenance of the plant including some installations and will form a key part of the maintenance team. Ensuring safe working practices are adhered to and report any contraventions. Implement and monitor a preventative maintenance schedule and interact with Operations personnel regarding fault-finding and necessary testing and modifications as well as dealing with unplanned maintenance work. Assist in completing the scheduled operations programme for proving plant securities and equipment changeover routines, while ensuring tests are carried out and successful results recorded on Altair or job sheet Carry out minor welding repair when required. Carry out planned maintenance in accordance with the maintenance schedule and report any irregularities. Work on 415kv 3 Phase systems and Maintain and test all LV electrical systems Complete report sheets in the absence of the maintenance manager. Carry out high voltage (HV) isolations and high voltage earthing while maintaining an accurate switching log. Liaise with the Local Electricity Authority (Area Board) in all matters concerning the operation of electricity generator, including high voltage switching. Complete isolations necessary for the company permit to work system in conjunction with maintenance and operations requests. Test and maintain all electrical protection systems and alarms. React to changes in circumstances and unplanned emergencies in relation to Plant and equipment. Report when stock levels are at re-order level for all items of spares and consumables. Experience / qualifications Required Direct working experience within an industrial / heavy production environment. City and Guilds 236(0), part 1&2/ an NVQ level 3, or equivalent Electrical engineering recognised apprenticeship C&G 5357. Practical experience of electrical work to ideally include small power and lights, control wiring to PLC/DCS systems, motors over 15kVA (including testing), circuit and cable tracing, working at heights and fault finding. Attention to detail with the ability to effectively interpret data. Basic IT skills, primarily in Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to read technical drawings. Advantageous 18th edition wiring regulations IOSH working safely Confined space awareness Forklift truck and MEWP licence Abrasive wheels Pendant crane operation Rigging & slinging HV operational safety or similar is desirable but not essential Additional Information: Contracted hours 40 hours (08:00am - 04:00pm) The work pattern is: Week 1-7 shifts on, Week 2- 2 rest days, 3 shifts on, 2 rest days, Week 3- Follow week1 shift pattern If you are looking to join a fantastic organisation that is one of the leaders in their field, then we need to speak to you today.
