Overview

Our client who are a market leader within steel works (structural and architectural) are looking to recruit a Health and Safety Officer to join their growing company. This is a new role within the business, the successful candidate will be given full autonomy to make the role their own and set up their own systems and procedures. The ideal candidate will have previous experience within H&S working for a construction firm and has experience completing risk assessments. Job Role: Completing risk assessments - workshop and onsite Preparing method statements Resolving and H&S issues across the business Roll out H&S training across the business Monitor and continually review and update policy, suitability of Risk and Method Statements Ensure adequate arrangements and procedures are in place to allow for implementation of policy and drive the requirement for continuous improvement. Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of the HSE developments Skills Needed Member of/or working towards IOSH and holder of NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent. Experience of working within a similar environment of construction A minimum of 2 years’ experience A full UK driving licence Strong knowledge of health and safety statutory regulations, you will be able to deliver relevant training to a variety of individuals Excellent communication skills The ability to work in a fast-paced environment If this is a role that you would like to discuss in more detail please contact Hills Consultants or apply online.
