SEN Teacher Secondary ASD/SLD Key Stage 3-5 Permanent Contract Outstanding Ofsted Central London location Specialist SEN School Interviews ASAP September start We are currently looking for an experienced and qualified teacher to join this Outstanding SEN School in Zone 1, Cetral London. The school caters for students aged 2-19 with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). In addition, some students at this school may exhibit challenging behaviour, sensory impairments or physical disabilities. The school is based in Central London and students come from all over London and the outskirts. The class sizes in this small school are not large and are very manageable (6-8 pupils) as well as being well resourced in terms of both equipment and staffing ratios (2-3 TAs). This SEN School boasts a number of specialist facilities on site including a multi-sensory room, soft play room, gym and playground. Situated in a great spot for transport via the tube and central London bus routes. This is a highly regarded special needs school with a happy environment and great links in the community. As an SEN Teacher, you would be planning and delivering lessons, differentiated to meet the individual needs of the children. The curriculum you would be delivering is aimed to provide an inclusive, supportive and challenging environment for the children and encourage them to actively participate in their learning. You would be teaching a range of subjects based on a primary model including Numeracy, Literacy, ICT, PSHE and PE at P levels 3-through to national curriculum Level 2A-2C. Due to the needs of the children, this SEN school is looking for someone with experience in working with children with similar needs. Experience in planning differentiated lessons and marking students work is essential. Each child has an individual learning plan you would be expected to write, monitor and discuss with therapists, parents and senior leadership. This SEN school trains all staff in Team Teach in order to manage behaviour and a number of communication aids including PECS and Makaton.
