Overview

We are seeking an experienced and qualified Financial Controller to join this ambitious and successful tour operator. If you are ideally ACCA/CIMA qualified with at least 3 years post-qualification experience then we definitely want to hear from you. You will ensure the timely and accurate provision of management information for internal and external stakeholders and to provide a strong internal financial control together with strong finance support for operational and commercial functions across the business. Furthermore, to produce regular management accounts and to work with the appointed Auditors to finalise statutory accounts and any financial reports required for the regulator or banking partners. SCOPE OF ROLE: The scope of the role is very broad in a small but growing company. The tasks will entail ensuring the validity of the underlying transactional data and development of the full suite of financial reporting. Certain clerical assistance will be available but the job holder will be required to take a "shirt sleeves" approach. The nature of the role is vital in providing a link from the clerical operatives such that timely and high quality financial information is presented. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: To produce daily and weekly management information, providing advice and assistance to the operational directors and the Board as to the performance of the company To produce monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Forecasts in the format of a 'Board Pack' To produce annual statutory accounts and work with the Auditor to have these audited in a timely manner. To own all financial reporting, as required, for the Regulator and Banking Partners and ensure all licence applications and similar requirements are met. To provide a rolling monthly re-forecast to the Board. To take commercial responsibility for supporting the Product & Commercial Team to contract suppliers and agree payment terms. To oversee the management and control of both sale and purchase ledgers and to manage cash and cash flows within agreed budgets and forecasts. To work with the Board and Management Team to prepare annual budgets, both departmental and consolidated. To own all overhead supplier relationships and contracts to ensure the company is getting value for money from each and every supplier. To support the Management Team in all aspects of the running of the company and managing staff, suppliers and customers as necessary. To take personal responsibility for 'setting the bar high' and putting the business' operations and customer service at the forefront. QUALIFICATIONS AND OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: It is expected that the job holder will be professionally qualified either CIMA/ACCA with a minimum of 3 years PQE in a service environment (preferably travel & tourism). Technical proficiency is required in the use of all Microsoft Office software to include Excel to advanced level at plus the ability to work across multiple platforms in an efficient manner. Proficiency in the use of several accounting software packages will be expected in addition to a mindset which seeks to continually improve on the status quo (for the avoidance of doubt Hidden Travel uses QuickBooks). The incumbent should be proficient at using MS Excel to produce financial models.
