ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER – PLUMBERS MERCHANT – KIRKINTILLOCH, GLASGOW – GREAT PACKAGE & BENEFITS We're looking for an Assistant Branch Manager (Plumbers Merchant) to join our clients Kirkintilloch team. An Assistant Branch Manager at for our client is proud to fully support the Branch Manager in running a seamless operation, developing the team’s knowledge to ensure exceptional service to our clients customers every time. Our client is a leading and well established with a nationwide branch network. Our client are proud to serve the Plumbing Professional as well as help the public with all their plumbing needs. As a national plumbers’ merchant, they ensure their customers can always find what they need, either in one of their nationwide stores or online, they aim to be there when their customers need them. Day to day you’ll be the proud supporting leader of the branch. You’ll have the experience and knowledge to manage and maximise performance along with the Branch Manager; whilst role modelling best practise to the team to ensure targets are always met. So if you have experience within a similar role, within a plumbers merchant, builders merchant or similar then this could be the role for you Apart from your day to day duties, some of your key responsibilities will include: Positively motivate and lead the team to achieve branch and regional targets. Managing the team to meet operational/service improvements, resolving issues and delivering objectives. Provide on the job training, guidance and coaching to all members of the team. Working with the Branch Manager to actively increase sales opportunities for new, lapsed and existing customers. Effectively increase profitable sales opportunities through correct product mix and merchandising in-line with company policy. Processing new account applications and set up terms of business for customers. Continually update knowledge of local competitors to offer our customers the most competitive offers. Analysing reports to seek opportunities for sales growth; communicating any decisions with the team. Acting to reduce unnecessary costs in line with company policies. Controlling the branch stock, via deliveries and the timely return of faulty/damaged goods and ensure up-to-date accurate stock records. Deputising for the Branch Manager when needed. Promoting and adhere to health & safety guidelines. Ensuring active compliance to company policies in the branch. Working from the Kirkintilloch, Glasgow branch The Person Experience of managing and leading a team Experience of working in a sales and customer service environment. Ideally experience of working in a Merchant, e.g. Builders Merchant, Plumbers Merchant, Electrical Merchant etc. Strong customer service skills and able to build rapport. Excellent communications skills be that in person, on the phone or via email. Strong people management skills including performance management and training. An enthusiast motivator who can get the best from people. Experience of training and developing teams. Able to deal with constantly changing priorities. Excellent team leadership skills. Strong numerical skills. Experience of driving sales whilst reducing costs Experience of working in a Merchants is desired but not essential. Experience of working with suppliers is desired but not essential Profit and loss report experience is desired but not essential.
