Overview

Job Purpose: To ensure the effective delivery of business value from IT projects Major Tasks and Activities: Ensuring the implementation of structured project management processes to ensure the effective delivery of business value from IT projects Assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review and escalating functional, quality and timeline issues appropriately Tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers Maintaining a full set of documentation as required by the IT Project Management Process for each project Coordinating communication with all areas of the business that impact the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed Assisting the Portfolio Manager and Business Relationship Manager in partnering with senior management of the business community to identify and prioritise opportunities for business improvement Ensuring that through life support capabilities are key design considerations in all new business system solutions Ensuring solution designs are compliant with the Company Standard Technology framework Additional accountabilities: Any other duties as deemed necessary to achieve department goals Key Outputs/Deliverables Projects delivered to time, cost & quality while tracking and recording any deviations Projects completed in accordance with agreed designs, and to prescribed standards Contribute to the maintenance of IT Project Management processes to enable precise reporting on all IT projects Ensure that support requirements are built into project plans from inception and that systems are designed for production and support Ensure all hardware acquired is compliant with the Comapny Standard Technology framework Establish and maintain accurate documentation and plans for projects in accordance with the Project Management Process Act as the focal point for all activities associated with the project Person Specification Qualification and Experience: Experienced IT professional, focussed on being a part of a cost effective and efficient project delivery team Minimum of five years' demonstrable Project Management experience Infrastructure Project Management desirable Software application Project Management essential Microsoft Project experience essential (and Project Server preferred) PRINCE/APM or equivalent certification Experience of managing 4/5 projects simultaneously Technical & Specialist Knowledge Demonstrable knowledge and experience of implementing and delivering large projects in complex environments within Budget and Timescales using structured Project Methodology Demonstrable knowledge and experience of current IT technology Infrastructure project management experience desirable: o Network installation o Server infrastructure o CISCO o Citrix o VOIP Software application Project Management experience essential: o Certified Scrum Master, AgilePM certified or equivalent o Experience of Agile o TFS (Team Foundation Server) experience desirable as PM will be expected to manage development work in TFS o Awareness of the ALM (Applications Lifecycle Management) process o Experience of managing both in-house application delivery teams as well as third parties Microsoft Project power user Experience of Microsoft Project Server would be advantageous Key Behavioural Competencies A leader, able to work collaboratively with others in the department and across the Group Capable of working on own initiative with self-management of work loads Able to work under pressure Ownership skills Excellent time management skills Ability to share knowledge with team members Comfortable working across a multi disciplined environment Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Flexible, can do attitude Travel Requirements Travel will be required with some overnight stays away from home Security Criteria Required SC clearable
