Senior Buyer - Manufacturing Summary of Position: Our Senior Buyers are key to the success of our operations and play a key role in ensuring we deliver our homes on time every time to our clients. You will be responsible for order receipt through to materials ordering to ensure production planning can happen on time and to standard. Using the Microsoft Dynamics Suite of products, you will register and screen the orders for our homes, and order materials via a set BOMs using an MRP type system. You will be responsible for ensuring that all the materials required to make our plans work arrive just in time and of the correct type/quantity/quality. To be successful in this role you will need excellent communication skills, both face to face and by phone, be persuasive, tenacious and thorough. You will have an eye for and be comfortable with detail and will be happy to gain an encyclopaedic knowledge of everything that is required to make them. Primary Responsibilities: Engaging with our customer facing team to gather sales order information and ensuring its accuracy and completeness Work with the production team to ensure they have the information and materials they need to meet our plans. Work with the wider supply chain team to identify and correct any deviation from the plan so that we produce on Time and to Specification each and every time. Build a solid PSL of tier one, two and three suppliers, securing competitive pricing. Experience: Previous experience of working within a purchasing role - essential Working in a production environment - desirable Working or working in a fast paced & high-volume environment Qualities & Attitude: Confident, approachable, listening, respectful, enthusiastic Tenacious with an eye for detail and ability to learn new products and processes quickly
