A PhD or similar level qualification is significantly preferred. A track record of working on statistical genetics projects, carrying out hands-on analysis of large genomic/genetic data sets. Experience working with large repositories of genomic / phenotypic data, such as Electronic Health Records, UK Biobank, disease registries, etc. Hands-on scripting/programming skills, ideally with Python or R, but other languages such as Perl or Bash are also acceptable, eg for tool, pipeline, model or package development. A very strong background in working with human / clinical NGS data, eg RNA-Seq, WGS, Exome/WES, GWAS or similar. A track record of working on drug discovery projects, with a preference for pharmaceutical / biotech industry experience. Experience of Machine Learning approaches, eg Random Forest, SVM, regression, clustering, etc would be an advantage for this role. As would experience of eQTL projects.
