We are working with one of the most exciting young companies in the UK right now and they are looking for a Research Engineer or Scientist based near Salisbury The Company: This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to drive the development of technologies which will feed the world. The role: We are looking for a tenacious Research Engineer or Scientist with hands on experience in Machine Vision, Artificial Intelligence, Plant Science, Geospatial Analysis or Algorithm Development. We need someone who can take ownership of our biggest scientific and technological challenges seeing them through to solutions. The role is based at our bespoke new facility near Salisbury and easily commutable from Southampton, Basingstoke, Winchester, Andover and the Thames Valley tech corridor. Responsibilities (although not limited to): Hands on research and experimentation to build of proof of concept and prototype systems; Investigation of technical challenges and developing solutions, working collaboratively with our commercial and academic partners; Find the answers no-one else has Skills: Ou client always support colleagues to develop their skills. But to be successful in this job you really do need to already be experienced in one of these fabulous fields… Machine Vision - working with both sensors and algorithms to provide our robots with the "eyes" they need to perform tasks in fields; Artificial Intelligence - providing our robots with the "brains" to identify useful information and produce advice for our farmers; Plant Science - a understanding of the structure of plants (good and bad) commonly found in fields, and the differences between them, to help our robots understand plant classification and health; Geospatial Analysis - a keen understanding of the geospatial systems our robots use to pinpoint plants, and present this information; Algorithm Development - designing the algorithms used by our robots to find their way; make decisions; and provide advice; Sensor Technologies and Integration - broad knowledge of sensor systems, and the ability to help make practical choices on devices through both research and practical experimentation What's on offer: A future-oriented job in a quickly growing start-up Mud and fresh air - you will never suffer from pollution here As an early employee, you will be deeply involved in the success of the Company An opportunity to influence the development of one of the most exciting companies in the UK Eco-bragging rights and photo opportunities in major press publications If you want to be successful and happy in your job, then get in touch today.
