Due to ongoing growth they require a further Tester to become an integral team member of the development team in Liss. Gold (standard) ‘Investors in People’ Top 25 - Glassdoor 2019 Employees' Choice Best Place to Work About You The successful candidate will have existing experience of testing activities against commercial software products, including but not limited to, test planning, test execution, defect identification, issue reporting and documentation. They will be a self-starter as well as able to work with others in a small team, but will also be aware of the “bigger picture”. They are keen to recruit someone who has already worked in a software house and is aware of the high standards required. Governance experience in a Local authority (or a similar organisation) would be a bonus. The role will involve being a member of the test team primarily testing software fixes and enhancements, and providing supporting test result and product documentation. This will be for both mature and greenfield products. The role will work very closely with the Liss-based development and support teams Essential Skills: · Experience of a commercial software testing role · Essential - Experience of using Azure DevOps, Test plans, (Gherkin ideal) · Test plan and test script creation · Specification / User story interpretation and clarification · Test execution / defect identification · Experience of different testing types including: requirements, regression, smoke, acceptance testing · Documentation of test results · Working with developers to perform root cause analysis and preliminary problem diagnosis · Dry run-through of scenarios to troubleshoot product issues · Experience of defect management systems · Creation and maintenance of product documentation · Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office · A responsible attitude · Ability to prioritise work and plan · Good communication skills and a ‘can do’ attitude Desirable: · Working within an AGILE development team · Experience of automated testing tools · ISTQB Foundation certified · Governance experience in a local authority or similar organisation This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89687033
