The Design Lead and Technical Coordinator role involves two related although slightly different aspects of the job: • Design Lead for EGIS project(s)• Technical Coordination within EGIS We are an international group offering engineering, project structuring and operations services. One of the exciting projects the Design Lead and Technical Coordinator will work on relates to the execution of the Birmingham tramway network extension contract. The aim of this once-renewable five-year contract is to construct 4 km of new line in the coming three years (three extensions) and an additional 15 km in the following five years (one additional lines). Our rapid expansion includes working with West Midland Combined Authority in a partnership agreement called "The Midland Metro Alliance" which brings together the Prime Contractor, the Construction Consortium and the Engineering Office and leading The Design Manage Service for Network Rail. The successful candidate is responsible for delivering all design elements on time and on budget (overall design production and quality, design budget and schedule, design risks) from concept through Preliminary and Detailed Design through Testing & Commissioning site support to hand-over. You will be responsible for ensuring that best practice of ‘technical knowledge sharing’ within Egis Rail technical departments. The role will also liaise with all the Egis production facilities (France, Poland, India, etc.). You will have: • Relevant Engineering Degree or Masters level or;• Completed Engineering or comparable master's program• A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in railway from tender phase to construction phase• Proven capability in managing design for a transportation system, especially in challenging environments• Relevant experience in the design, specification and procurement of infrastructure in tram and or metro design• Has good understanding of all relevant BIM standards, design procedures and relevant legislation.• A clear understanding of a multi-disciplinary design approach and the delivery of projects to a high quality, throughout all design stage gates.• Team player• Good communication skills • Experience of supporting organisation to build Please note that all candidates must be eligible for work within the UK.
