That’s why we ask all our graduates to be flexible and willing to move during their programme. What you'll be doing There are so many exciting experiences to be had here. You might find yourself working on submarine designs, commercial ships or even nuclear new-build programmes. Whatever it is, you’ll demonstrate your technical flair – whether you’re producing structural designs, analysing existing systems or engaging key stakeholders. You could work in structural design: producing drawings and working with manufacturers, suppliers and subcontractors right through to manufacture, installation and decommissioning. Equally, you could work on analysis and problem solving for existing equipment or systems. What’s not in doubt is that there will be plenty of challenges (e.g. implementing designs, finding solutions to installation issues, liaising with designers and office-based engineers). You’ll also get involved in project management too: engaging with stakeholders, planning delivery and ensuring projects run to budget and programme. What you'll get out of it You’ll get a proper overview of what we do, which will help you figure out what you love and what you’re good at. We’ll also support you every step of the way on your path to becoming an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer – with a competitive starting salary of £29k - £31k as you’re doing it. After the programme, you’ll be in pole position for lots of roles throughout Babcock.
