Full time, 3 6 months, £450pd inside IR35, Mid-March Start Interim Head of Town Planning One of our Local Authority clients in London are looking for an interim Head of Town Planning, due to an internal restructure. The Role of Head of Town Planning: To be the councils head of service for planning services. To provide effective corporate and operational management to the team to deliver and continuously improve services and collaborate with colleagues, members and partners to support the implementation of objectives in the Council Plan. To ensure the teams work in a collaborative way to create and maintain the economic and physical infrastructure of the borough ensuring sustainability to enable future generations to enjoy a good quality of life. Responsibilities of Head of Planning: To be responsible for the planning service budget, working with team managers and finance colleagues to build an annual budget for member approval Requirements for Head of Planning: Sound working knowledge of the planning system and the related functions the service delivers. Up to date knowledge of current legislation and good practice in the field. Awareness of the roles of leadership and management and the ability to deliver both effectively for a multidisciplinary team. Awareness of the importance of delivering good customer service and the ability to drive change in work practices to secure this. Strong people-management and interpersonal skills. Effective project management skills.
