Title: Communications, Participation & Campaigns Officer Hours: 15 hours per week Part Time Pension: Auto-enrolment scheme in place Contract: Fixed Term for 3 years Probationary Period: 6 Months Accountable to: PR & Communications Coordinator Place of work: Osney Mead, Oxford Salary: £21,166 (NJC SCP 11 - 18) per annum, pro rata About the Organisation Our client is a mental health charity. They’re there to make sure anyone with a mental health problem has somewhere to turn for advice and support; in total over 20,000 people in Oxfordshire access their services each year. With one in four people experiencing a mental health problem at some point in their lives, people need our client more than ever. Their work includes: The Transitional Supported Housing Recovery Service (part of the Oxfordshire Mental Health Partnership). The TalkingSpace Plus psychological therapy service in partnership with Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust The Oxfordshire Wellbeing Service, which is part of both the TalkingSpace Plus and Oxfordshire Mental Health Partnerships and includes: Five Wellbeing Centres throughout the county Public Wellbeing & Information Services Physical Activity and Wellbeing Benefits for Better Mental Health, a welfare benefits advice service Volunteering and Peer Support Opportunities Raising awareness and campaigning activity. They employ over 100 staff and operate in 28 locations around the county. Purpose of the Job The Communication, Participation & Campaigns Officer is a key member of the team delivering the innovative Mental Wealth Academy in partnership with other third sector organisations across Oxfordshire. The Communication, Participation & Campaigns Officer will ensure the partnership communicates effectively with young people, their families, carers and professionals. The post-holder is responsible for ensuring excellent communication by working with young people in a co productive approach. Responsibilities Utilising a co productive approach working with young people to create meaningful and engaging content to campaign and promote services Utilising a co productive approach working with young people to create meaningful and engaging content to campaign and promote services Coordinating effective and consistent external communication for the partnership Developing the project’s online presence through social media and other relevant channels Creating publicity that is of a high quality and communicates an effective and positive message Using Adobe InDesign and Adobe Premiere Pro to edit the full suite of social media content, including but not limited to, video, social media graphics, print work (including leaflets, posters, and brochures) GIFs and animations Competently use communication platforms for business use, including but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and Bitly Developing integrated marketing campaigns and overseeing the distribution of publicity materials Produce 'grab bags of communications’ for all partners to share on social media Producing monthly communication reports Attending events, as when required, to capture content for social media quality Liaising with the PR & Communications Coordinator to ensure that all publicity material meets guidelines Providing regular high-quality reports to the PR & Communications Officer and wider partnership Monitoring partnership social media platforms for trends, key messages and campaigns Project Profile Launching in Autumn 2019, the Mental Wealth Academy is an innovative new project supporting 18-25 year olds affected by life-changing events, who are falling through gaps created by transition pathways from CAMHS to Adult Mental Health services. Furthermore, as part of this innovative project, families will be supported to enable them to work with their children and young people to recover from mental health issues following a life changing event. In partnership with Response, Ark T, Synolos, Trax, RAW, Oxfordshire Youth, SOFEA and BYHP, the Transitional Wellbeing Practitioner and Participation & Campaigns Worker will be at the heart of this pioneering new mental health service for young people. The Mental Wealth Academy Model will be characterised by an aspirational, coproductive, asset-based approach with the aim of reducing health inequalities, increasing resilience and improving life chances. The project will expand the third sector's reach and impact through a proactive and preventative programme consisting of training, peer mentorship and direct intervention.
