Shift Trader £55,000 - £65,000 p.a. Shift Allowance £9,000 Performance Bonus Central London A leading Energy Trading company based in central London are recruiting an experienced Energy Shift Trader due to the promotion of the existing job holder and the continuing expansion of the business. The successful candidate will have good knowledge of the energy industry, including gas and power operations and experience of the UK Spot and OTC markets. Trading within-day gas and power markets to balance and reduce the business’ exposure Working as part of a 24/7 operations team on a full shift rotation basis, utilising self-starter capability while also working efficiently within a team environment. 12-hour shifts as follows 5 days on / 6 days off / 2 days plus 3 nights / 6 days off / 4 nights Devising, developing and implementing short term trading strategies, using short-term and Balancing Mechanism markets to optimise generation and maximise overall plant revenue Dispatching our portfolio to capture gross margin from optimal generation/trading decisions, operating within credit guidelines and risk limits. Managing the business’ contracted positions to avoid exposure to volatile and punitive imbalance charges Coordinating and planning short term outages to minimise commercial impact, and manage the process of units returning to service Ensuring all power market license conditions are upheld through good communications with the relevant network operator(s) and implementation of network codes Assisting with requests from stakeholders across the group when required, helping to promote the team and support the successful growth of the business Deliver against annual team/individual targets & ensure our performance is tracked using agreed metrics.
