The day job We are looking to recruit a strong Senior Internal Communications Manager, based at our London or Hemel office. You'll be reporting to the Head of Communications and Events and will drive the development and implementation of a new and ambitious internal communications and employee engagement strategy across the business. This is an exciting role which will support the drive for leadership communications and staff engagement. It is a fantastic opportunity to play a part in shaping the culture of the organisation, deliver innovative communication approaches and be part of a growing internal communications team. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and implement an internal communication strategy in association with senior stakeholders, including key HR stakeholders, to address the communications needs of the business Create and develop an ambitious strategic communications plan to improve employee engagement for the business that communicates in a relatable, open and approachable manner and brings our business strategy to life for our employees Develop a strategic corporate messaging platform in association with the Executive Committee Manage all internal communications channels and the development and delivery of content for all internal communications channels Regularly review communications channels to optimize and evolve content to maximise engagement Deliver regular 'temperature check’ surveys to guide employee engagement programmes Ensure all messages are consistent across the business, including alignment with external messaging, tailored as appropriate Manage the communications involved in employee consultations Manage the internal communications, and provide senior counsel, in response to incidents and crisis situations Create guidelines and manage the use of social channels by employees and for internal communication Regularly review the communications plan with key stakeholders and employee groups across the business Advise internal teams, as required, on the best approach for specific sector or team communications Key skills and experience required An expert in IC with substantial experience at a senior level within complex organisations with geographically dispersed staff A proven track record in managing strategic communications for large scale organisational change and business transformation Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work credibly with senior leaders Be a strategic thinker capable of developing and challenging internal communications and engagement strategy Excellent project management skills with proven organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise work Be a skilled writer with the ability to write effectively in all internal communication channels, adapting style appropriately between different media, and to coach team members to do the same Good digital practitioner and able to make effective recommendations about how we should use online media in order to best achieve leadership communication goals Proactive team player with a positive corporate attitude and able to provide value-adding feedback laterally and upwards Reasons why you should apply to us We’re big - really big.
