Purpose We are seeking to recruit a Technology Communications Advisor to the firm’s Technology function. The Technology function delivers and supports best in class technology solutions to enable the firm to provide legal services to its clients and to achieve its strategy. The advisor will: - Support technology projects and business as usual activities to ensure that any technology changes or impacts to the business are communicated effectively and appropriately. - Work alongside Technology team members to understand the impact of work being undertaken and to advise on how best to engage with the business. - Work alongside Internal Communications team members to ensure that we use our communications channels as effectively as possible and that we generate engaging and relevant content - Be a source of advice and support to colleagues on an ad hoc basis in response to challenges arising Key Dimensions and Challenges With guidance from the Technology Communications Manager, support Project Managers and Project Sponsors in the effective communications relating to projects and programmes. For example: Working with the Project Manager and project teams, to help define communications objectives, plans and key messages to support the successful achievement of project objectives. Providing guidance on communications tactics and channels; demonstrating keen awareness of best practice Supporting the execution of communications plans Advising on assessment and measurement of outcomes This will involve building highly effective working relationships with Project Managers, Technology team leads, Business Managers, COOs, colleagues in other Business Teams and the practice. Facilitate the communication of Business as Usual Technology changes (for example upgrades to software, service outages to facilitate maintenance windows and other communications campaigns as needed e.g. Information Security. For example: Working alongside the Technology Service Delivery managers to plan and facilitate communications campaigns. Supporting any 'urgent’ messages which relate to service outages or information security issues. Providing support to set up a framework for the ongoing successful delivery of BAU changes. Support the Technology Communications Manager on managing activities in the function’s internal communications plan. For example: Leading the creation of ideas and content for monthly leadership team briefings / blogs. Managing the Tech newsletter Preparing content for town hall meetings being run by the tech leadership team. Ensuring the Technology teams have an up to date and suitable presence on the intranet. Characteristics, Skills & Experience required: Track record of successful performance in communications roles in complex international organisations Good understanding of the challenges involved in managing senior stakeholders Experience in measuring internal communications effectiveness Structuring; drafting; editing; proof-reading Rigorous attention to detail Project planning and management Managing video updates with senior leaders
