COMPANY DESCRIPTION Our client is one of the largest privately owned broadcast services facility in Europe and a Sky authorised provider of playout and EPG Services. The company has over 25 years’ worth of experience in the television market and currently provides Broadcast Services to more than 50 channels. JOB DESCRIPTION This is an ideal opportunity for an enthusiastic and personable graduate to join a specialist broadcast facility in Park Royal. No previous experience of broadcasting is required as full training will be given. Reporting to the Broadcast Operations Supervisor and the Head of Broadcast Operations, you will work 12-hour shifts (3 days/3 nights/3 off) in a busy MCR (Master Control Room) and have overall responsibility for the playout, delivery, and monitoring of several linear and non-linear television channels. You will learn to take on the following responsibilities: Supervision of ingest levels - all for optimum playout performance Monitoring of current client playlists, responding to requests for insertions/deletions/changes Managing VOD content preparation and delivery Managing incoming feeds for turnaround and record for later insertion in playlist(s) Making minor editing changes to content (T.C. In/T.C. Out, etc) Coping calmly, logically, and professionally with "on-air" emergencies Dealing with different control room personnel along the broadcast chain Analysing and sorting playout problems and calling in managers/engineers when needed Gain minimum user level proficiency on the various tools available in the broadcast environment e.g. Auto QC, Transcoders, Edit, Loudness Correction etc. Dealing with clients in a professional and timely manner Receiving and handling the majority of incoming telephone calls to the MCR in a professional manner Reporting, daily and ad hoc incidents, to Management and to Clients as and when needed. WHO FITS THE BILL Ability to problem solve, without delay, in a highly pressurised environment Excellent written and spoken English language High level of numeracy Meticulous attention to detail Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Ability to multi-task and organise time efficiently and effectively Ability to work to tight deadlines Excellent customer service skills Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Eagerness to learn and work with new systems The ability to demonstrate initiative, work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances A genuine passion for television Experience in broadcast industry would be beneficial.
