Overview
What the role is: To work alongside a team of procurement specialists, a key role in the company’s procurement team responsible for the strategic sourcing and category management for accountable categories. The focus being the end to end product selection sourcing processes through developing clear category management strategies to maximise value. The emphasis is on buying the right products to fit the longer-term needs of our customers and the business whilst achieving total cost solutions rather than a simple quick, price focused fit. What you’ll be doing will include: Supporting the senior team in the delivery of the overall procurement business strategy, with direct accountability for specific directs categories Responsible for developing and delivering the accountable category strategies, effective range development, strategic sourcing and category management Management of suppliers in terms of regular business and performance reviews, continuous improvement initiatives, forecasts/re-forecasts and ongoing relationship development to optimise the value and performance of each supplier Negotiation and management of commercial terms for all suppliers that fall within scope, integrating into central contractual agreements to synergise benefits and maximise sustainable value Consolidate expenditure and suppliers wherever appropriate, to maximize volumes and minimise complexity To enhance all procurement practices in sourcing and supplier management through the implementation of the Scanmarket eSourcing Platforms, including but not limited to all tenders, contracts and supplier information, to underpin category opportunities where appropriate Define Supplier Management JBP strategies and execute appropriate processes in line with the Procurement and Category Strategies Manage and communicate effectively the impact of supply decisions on the operations Ensure SLAs/contracts are in place for all key accountable suppliers and are maintained within the eSourcing platforms To support the menu development process in collaboration with Sales, NPD/Culinary and Commercial teams, for accountable airlines through new product sourcing and pricing Accountable for the adherence to company compliance procedures and the development and implementation of functional processes, guidelines, policies, and projects relative to accountable category activities What you’ll have will include: Experience within foodservice, manufacturing and or food production CIPS qualification or relevant industry experience Understanding of common markets and broad general market knowledge Good negotiation skills with the ability to lead negotiations Ability to build informal authority and influence key decision makers A track record of delivering change Commercially aware Analytical and methodical approach Strong communication, interpersonal and presentational skills Ability to plan and multi-task in a structured way Able to lead and motivate, shaping a common purpose Competent with eProcurement platforms and IT solutions
