Overview

Delivery of teaching and learning will be within Peterborough and Cambridge Fixed term until July 2021, 35 hours per week Salary: £26,927.61 - £30,436.35 per annum, depending on experience Are you an experienced functional skills teacher looking for an exciting new challenge with the freedom to manage your own classes across Peterborough and Cambridge? This position will require some evening delivery, with the support of a weekly team meeting based in Bury St Edmunds. All other working hours will be remote and in flexible, reasonable, agreement with the department. Role Responsibilities Teach English and Maths functional skills qualifications to a range of classes across workplaces in the Cambridge and Peterborough regions Play an active part within the Maths and English delivery team which includes: Developing standard schemes of work and lesson plans as appropriate Disseminating exemplar teaching, learning and assessment materials Participate in internal verification for Entry Level Functional Skills English Advising and supporting vocational staff to embed and contextualise development of learners Mathematics and English skills within their vocational programmes Participate in weekly course team meetings, curriculum planning and materials development as appropriate. Attend parent, career and other evenings as appropriate. Act as mentor to new members of staff/PGCE Students and give support to other new team members as appropriate Required qualifications, skills and experience A Certificate in Education, PGCE or other higher teaching qualification would be advantageous. Significant experience of teaching Maths and English Functional Skills Good or better ‘Teaching, Learning and Assessment’ grades.
