Editor Role SW London Competitive My client is one of the world’s leading event organisers, producing and delivering innovative and market-leading events. The firm has grown into a truly international business with a large portfolio of events and media brands across various markets The life science events team are seeking an experienced Editor to join they’re very exciting and fast growing portfolio. They occupy a unique, market leading position in Europe, America & Asia providing business critical insight to a global network of pharma, biotech, healthcare, academic and investment organisations via a range of special interest groups, trade missions, conferences and large-scale events. The role of Editor: - Being the face and implementer of Content Marketing Consultancy and editorial services. - The initiator and creator of original content and fortnightly e-newsletter, with the objective of driving engagement, brand equity and ultimately sales (attendance at events) - Supporting the marketing team by producing relevant content to support event marketing campaigns. The Candidate: The editor should have a strong scientific background and in-depth knowledge of the advanced therapies sector to be able to cover technical topics. They should be comfortable conversing and discussing such topics with potential Sponsored Content stakeholders, the community and industry leaders, as well as being able to conduct incisive interviews. The editor should be highly competent in copywriting with skill, accuracy and attention to detail as well as having experience with design processes and user experience in relation to content and reader engagement. A strategic and commercial skillset is required to develop sales proposals in collaboration with the sales team, manage the relationship with clients, manage projects within budget and timelines and to spot new business opportunities. The editor is responsible for the strategic development working in collaboration with the event teams and Portfolio Director to ensure consistency in terms of brand values. Content Marketing Agency To develop proposals, in collaboration with sales team, which develop distinctive ideas and deliverables that meet client needs and our business values To work with the Head of Sales to develop the annual inventory and pricing and to assist the sales team in achieving financial targets To establish and manage the content project schedules for won business, coordinating with the client, third party suppliers (where required) and/or the cross-functional team to ensure publication to agreed budgets and deadlines Webinar management and hosting both for both clients and internally Content Create and manage the editorial strategy and calendar Write and build the fortnightly newsletter Attend and report on key industry events Maintain and update the website ensuring the SEO Best Practice is adhered to so that content is on page 1 of natural search. Write/develop original content that is highly relevant and topical to our target audience and which serves to nurture individuals from engagement to membership and, finally, customers Conceptualise and produce content, which may include background research, drafting and analysing surveys, engaging authors and other vendors, editing written work, video and infographics, presenting and facilitating at events Develop and manage a functional and engaged editorial board Undertake quarterly SEO audits and implement required improvements General Produce weekly team updates to communicate upcoming content and purpose allowing better engagement of clients and prospects Assist the marketing team in the creation of a content marketing strategy for event marketing campaigns, building an owned audience and nurture to create loyal customers Support the team in adopting and communicating with an appropriate brand voice Knowledge, Skills, Attitude and Behaviour: A dynamic writer able to create compelling headlines and editorial pieces while also wearing the hat of editor and content lead An excellent communicator who can present ideas clearly and with purpose, both internally and externally Excellent project management, planning and organisational skills Able to react and respond positively to feedback from various stakeholders Self-motivated, proactive and able to anticipate business needs and take action Demonstrate an exceptional facility for creativity, ideation and a familiarity with the process of proposing and revising ideas to incorporate group feedback and priorities Demonstrated consistent editorial judgement and possess strong decision-making and problem-solving skills Fluent in today’s digital media landscape, key trends, and challenge Interpersonnel are operating as an Employment Agency for our client for this particular role.
