Overview
Senior Researcher We are searching for an experienced Senior Researcher Overall Purpose The Research Librarian is primarily responsible for providing accurate, detailed and high-quality responses to research queries while balancing some in-depth and longer-term projects. The role will coordinate closely with the National Information Services Manager to deliver first-rate bespoke research to clients and internal stakeholders. Principal Responsibilities Research Produce both quick-turn around and in-depth qualitative and quantitative research Assist in the development and implementation of research strategies for bespoke longer-term projects Conduct reference interviews with enquirers to determine desired deliverables Attend meetings with colleagues in business development and other service lines to discuss and coordinate research support and larger project initiatives Ensure personal as well as team effectiveness in maintaining consistent high-quality output to deadline Tracking of research queries and larger projects via internal systems Monitor RSM industries to identify sector issues and key trends Other Duties Support NIS Managers with subscription decisions and trialling of new information products and platforms Co-ordinate and effectively communicate with colleagues in the Research team and broader NIS department to ensure proper and effective delivery of work Assist in the promotion of NIS services through contribution to marketing efforts, office visits, presentations and similar activities as needed Requirements Good degree and postgraduate in library and information studies At least three years’ experience in commercial research Sound knowledge of business information sources and online services Specialist knowledge of accountancy, tax or financial information an advantage Strong IT skills including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Window Personal Attributes Exceptional time management and ability to coordinate work across team efficiently and to deadline Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills as well as strong oral and written communication skills Ability to work with colleagues at all levels Ability to apply creative, analytical, evaluative, and interpretive thought processes Enthusiastic with a keen interest in commercial information Initiative to develop new forms of work; ad hoc projects and reports Ability to remain accurate and helpful while working under pressure with an attention to detail Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative Experienced hire Permanent BROMLEY National Technical Services
