Overview

An opportunity for a Senior Associate to join the Licensing team for a Premier Football Club. You will assume the role of Category Management in relation to Licensing. The successful candidate will support the Vice President, Licensing in the development and execution of a long-term business strategy for the global Licensing business that leverage's the Clubs IP to build a sustainable business that achieves annual revenue targets. The Person We are looking for a candidate to join our team who has previous experience working within a licensing role, from a national and international perspective, with significant experience of category management and experience of driving new business. In addition, you will have significant commercial acumen and experience of managing agents and the ability to present to business leaders. You will have a can-do attitude, strong analytical skills, financial awareness and the ability to manage financials, excellent negotiation skills, strong negotiation skills and excellent attention to detail. The Role A significant emphasis of your role will be the development of pre-determined partners (Licensees/ Agents), through a proactive approach to driving new business and supporting the day to day management of the total licensee base to include gap analysis, pitch plans, contract negotiation, forecasting, and retail sell-in. Your main areas of responsibility will also include: Working with the Vice President, Licensing to develop and execute long-term growth strategies for the Global Licensing business by category. Identifying licensing opportunities and filling market gaps across all categories considering age, segment, market and channel. Working collaboratively with the Partnership team to pro-actively drive Club-wide new business where there is a licensing element. Defining and integrating assigned licensees within wider retail and marketing plans where relevant. Supporting assigned licensees through relationships with key buyers and decision makers across top retail accounts. Working on the creation of targeted presentations to pitch licensing programmes or specific category areas, customized to each key market for licensees, agents and partners. Maintaining knowledge of key seasonality and buying cycles of identified key retailers. Regular attendance of trade shows and social industry functions where applicable - e.g. Brand Licensing Europe. Accountable for all direct licensee`s and act as main point of contact for any queries (contracts, renewals, marketing support). Regular liaison with the Product Development team to drive quality and champion innovation in product, sharing information and knowledge to ensure business growth. Ensuring all products are in-line with global creative direction and product hierarchy. Managing all licensing requests and review all new proposals. Negotiate any new proposals or renewals, presenting these deals in the fortnightly Deal Review meetings. Maintaining current knowledge of industry trends, competitors, business opportunities, threats and dynamics for category and key licensees. Regular travel domestically and internationally to meet licensees & agents where required. Fiscal responsibility of pre-determined partners and new business target to include annual budget planning and quarterly revenue forecasting. Analysing licensee performance against MG & identify any issues or areas of opportunity, define growth objectives and strategies.
