Overview

The Organisation: We are working with a large manufacturing company based in North Tyneside to recruit for a Marketing & Communications officer, to cover maternity leave. This role will report directly into the Strategic Business & Development Manager, and work alongside a Marketing Assistant. Duties: The purpose of this role is to ensure effective implementation of the operational marketing plan and enable business continuity during and after this period of leave. The Marketing & Communications Officer will professionally and efficiently coordinate marketing projects, in line with organisational objectives. Acting as a custodian of the brand, the Marketing & Communications Officer works to ensure that internal and external representations accurately reflect the company identity. This role supports the business units in understanding market and customer expectations and measuring performance against these. Responsibility for the coordination of brand presentation across print and digital, advertising, trade shows and press. Implementation of marketing plans, working with senior managers & directors Developing relevant and distinctive product marketing campaigns, working with internal stakeholders Working with the Innovation team and the business units to ensure that the voice of the customer is captured in the development of product & technology roadmaps Use all elements of the marketing mix to present the brand and products Coordinating all external communications, including public media Monitoring consumer and market trends and create new marketing campaigns in line with competitor activity. You will be required to coordinate and manage these campaigns and analyse and report on the results. This will also include sourcing and assessing marketing intelligence and producing reports for briefing the business. Providing oversight of marketing content, imagery, advice, guidance and creative input for all departments You will be required to participate in press meetings, product launches and development of press releases and the coordinating of press and media activities such as new visits, interviews and filming Supervising brand presentation at trade events, conferences and exhibitions Managing the market budget alongside the Strategic Business & Development Manager in line with existing practise and plans and assist in the development of the Marketing Assistant, providing support as and when necessary. Travel will be required from time to time for this role. Person Specification: You will require a relevant qualification or degree in the area of media, communication or marketing. You must have experience in marketing and sales administration and knowledge of numerical and data-driven market analysis. Experience of working within a business to business environment and technical marketing is essential. Excellent writing skills is required, ranging from simple business emails and memos to crafting marketing messaging. Strong verbal communication is a must and the ability work proficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines is required. High level of experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office will also be required.
