Graduate Market Development Executive (Events) Location: Oxford, Oxfordshire, OX1 1XX Salary: £23K - £25k Excellent Bonus Potential Contract: Full time, Permanent Global Water Intelligence is looking for a smart and driven graduate to join our team to work on our fast growing B2B conference business. Our conferences are best in class events that focus on the business of water and helping the industry to solve the many water related challenges that we face. GWI conferences cover municipal water and wastewater, finance, technology, innovation and industry (including specialised conferences on microelectronics and energy). The role is in the sales team but will develop skills associated with marketing and conference production as well as sales. It is perfect for someone who is naturally inquisitive, thinks strategically and has excellent communication skills who wants to work in an entrepreneurial environment. This role will focus on identifying and engaging key individuals and companies and getting them to attend our conferences. You will need to be able to think analytically about industries, the roles of different market participants within them and why they get out of bed in the morning. You will need to be able to learn to "speak the language" of different market niches and to be confident talking to people who are on the cutting edge of their fields. A typical conference cycle: Working with the senior conference producers and company directors to understand where we are looking to grow Working marketing and sales teams to create lists of suitable companies and executives Engaging these people via phone, social, email and content channels (as well as face to face) and making them understand that our conference really is the place to be for them to be Handling delegate enquiries in the lead up to the event Attending the conferences. Building a deeper understanding of the industries and helping to make it even better next time Whilst the principle focus of the role is our events business the knowledge and networks built will have wider applications in terms of our publishing products and this role would provide opportunities for a range of different paths of progression within the company. Company information Global Water Intelligence is an ambitious company with around 70 employees spread between Oxford, Austin (Texas) and Shanghai. It publishes market leading magazines, databases, and reports on the international water industry. Additionally, it runs a series of successful events.
