Overview
Our Client is an award-winning investment management house dedicated to creating high quality investment portfolios and providing a personal service for private individuals, trusts, charities, and institutions. They are looking for a Private Client business development manager, responsible for promoting and selling their services and investment solutions through several channels. Main Responsibilities: Key member of a dedicated Business Development Team within Private Clients, responsible for promoting and selling services and investment solutions through a number of channels - direct to the market; via intermediaries and referrals from an existing client base Has a significant part to play in the delivery of the Private Client Growth Strategy and associated financial targets Will have direct and primary responsibility for the opening up and achieving sales of Private Clients investment services and solutions to individuals (and any associated corporate structures) by seeking, following up and closing business referred by professional organisations (including for not limited to lawyers, accountants and corporate finance houses) As a secondary responsibility, will work with and encourage existing members of the Private Clients team to seek and win business through similar opportunities based on their own contacts and client base Activity to be undertaken in close liaison with other Business Development Teams (Charities and Funds), and always adopting an approach Working closely with the various Teams in Private Clients (to build specific and achievable business development plans by channel and for defined services and investment solutions) Working closely with the Marketing team to develop marketing collateral for the sector involved. Background and Experience required: A minimum of three years’ experience in a Wealth Management environment that combines financial planning and discretionary fund management - operating in business development distribution capability Experience of operating into professional intermediaries and demonstrable ability to gain their confidence Awareness of industry trends - demographically, the impact of regulation and the possibilities of technology Competencies: Financially literate Energetic and proactive Compelling and persuasive - with sales or relationship management experience Professional manner, with high quality standard and attention to detail Ability to handle different situations and different profiles simultaneously Strong commercial sense and able to work to budgets / targets Good team worker and natural organisational 'broker’ Open and sharing of information whilst respecting client / prospect confidentiality A firm that attaches huge importance to investing in what they believe to be the best ideas worldwide, be that in individual stocks, funds, fixed interest or alternative asset classes.
