Overview

We are seeking a dynamic new Chief Executive to provide strong leadership and direction during a period of rapid expansion for this growing charity.  If you have a passion for working with communities, love heritage and enjoy managing change, this could be the job for you   Heritage Trust Network (HTN) is a grass roots membership organisation operating across the United Kingdom, that provides a unique resource within the national heritage sector, supporting community based organisations to revive their heritage assets for social and economic benefit.  We equip local communities with the skills they need to deliver these complex projects through our online resources and fortnightly newsletters, as well as providing peer to peer support through regular branch meetings and our annual conference.     Thanks to funding from Historic England, National Lottery Heritage Fund and others, the organisation has an exciting opportunity to upscale its operations over the next three years, to increase resilience and deliver a comprehensive programme of community-based training and skills development to its expanding membership.   As our new CEO you will be working with an active and engaged board of trustees and a great team of dedicated staff, volunteers and consultants.  You will also be representing the organisation at a national level to improve HTN’s profile and impact.   Our ideal candidate will have several years’ experience of managing a heritage, cultural or community organisation, involving strategic planning, staff management and finances.  A broad based interest in historic building/built environment matters and knowledge of the range of not for profit organisations working to benefit local communities will be essential. We will also be looking for someone with excellent people and communication skills, an aptitude for fundraising and business planning, as well as sound marketing and IT skills.    The post is based in Birmingham, with travel throughout the UK.
