The Role The Management Accountant will have a good understanding of basic management accounting and its subordinates roles and responsibilities. The Management Accountant will need to be experienced to work on its own volition / initiative. Ideally the Management Accountant will have a good understanding of Media Ocean accounting system (media buying) and Excel to a proficient level. Key roles and responsibilities (non-exhaustive) Direct reports of 1 to 2 people, understand their key business objectives and ensure they deliver their job responsibilities in a timely and correct manner; Prepare accurate, timely and informative monthly management accounts, including full variance analysis against current forecasts; Reconcile forecasted Revenue to actuals and calculate the third-parties commissions; Prepare quarterly group income & cost reforecasts for review with the Financial Controller prior submission to the group; Input monthly accounts and quarterly forecasts into group reporting system and ensure accuracy at all times; Prepare weekly analysis regarding the activity for the EXCOM; Complete quarterly VAT returns and ensure postings meet HMRC rules and deadlines; Ensure all financial processes are carried our compliantly following group compliance / reporting requirements; Process monthly working capital reports and understand both aged debtors and aged creditor balances; Review monthly bank reconciliations produced by the treasury / accounting team; Produce bi-annual intercompany reconciliations for reporting to group; Ensure accuracy of postings into the general ledger by all members of the finance team; Assist the Financial Controller with both internal and external audits; Any additional ad-hoc group requests from Finance Director or Financial ControllerPrepare Balance Sheet reconciliations and understand ramifications of all balance sheet accounts; Requirements 2+ years experience in processing monthly management accounts and forecasting; Chartered Accountant preferred; Advanced Excel knowledge; Mediaocean / DDS experience is a plus; Experience with group reporting deadlines advantageous; Problem solver; Autonomous, proactive and intuitive; Team player; Organized.
