Overview

This is a unique opportunity to join a prestigious architectural and structural engineering consultancy on a permanent basis, based in Gerrards Cross, Bucks. You will be a key player within a well-established team of industry experts. Your New Company We are currently recruiting for an ambitious and talented individual to join our architectural & planning design team as a Structural Engineer on a permanent basis. We are an award-winning residential development company who also work on small-to-medium scale projects for private clients. The ideal candidate will be given full support and training to settle in within the company and the role. The work is varied including all the main design materials. This role will include production of AutoCAD drawings, design of beams, columns, and other elements in steel, concrete, masonry and timber – involved in both extensions & refurbishment projects. You will be responsible for a multitude of tasks including; using a range of relevant analytical software packages (full training will be provided), creation & delivering of bespoke design packages for building control approval, liaising with colleagues & clients. This will involve: - Creating the Structural Design, Feasibility Studies & offering on-site solutions - You will liaise with both the CAD team and the Directors in order to ensure that a committed service is offered on all projects. - You will be responsible for liaising with clients, construction site managers and building control authorities as well as the internal stakeholders in the office. What you'll need to succeed - You will ideally have solid United Kingdom residential structural design experience having performed in a similar role previously. - You will be attending site and client meetings so experience of dealing with a variety of stakeholders at a senior level is essential - You will be preparing structural calculations with solutions, liaising with the other senior staff & spending time on site Skills needed: - Degree in B.Eng./B.Sc. in Civil/Structural Engineering (minimum 2.2) - Experience using AutoCAD is essential - Experience using REVIT is ideal but not required - Experience using ROBOT or similar analysis software is advantageous but not necessary as training will be provided - Excellent Written & Verbal communication skills - A keen interested in residential and domestic buildings - Work experience in similar role is highly advantageous but not required What you'll get in return - 22 days Annual Leave 3 Days Christmas Break - Excellent modern/open space office environment - Training provided for relevant software - Flexible working hours - Competitive Salary - Immediate Start
